The leather part of the bag's surface is made by Mastrotto, a long-established tannery near Vicenza, Italy, which was founded in 1958. It is one of the leading leather manufacturers in Europe, and its leather is used all over the world, not only for bags and shoes but also for furniture and luxury car seats. This product uses Mastrotto's shrink-embossed leather. It has a beautiful texture with a fine crease in the shape of a crepe and also has the feature of not showing scratches and wrinkles easily.
The Cordura fabric used for this product is water repellent on both sides. In addition, the inner surface of the bag has a urethane coating. Even if food or liquid is spilled inside the bag, it will not soak into the fabric. Wiping the bag clean will prevent stains. (Some stains may remain on the sewing threads. The leather part is not water-repellent. If the leather part gets wet, wipe it off with a dry cloth as soon as possible. Use a leather protection product if necessary.)
Three color variations are available. “Composition" is a modern coloring inspired by the work of Piet Mondrian. “Black" is a stylish solid black that can be used for a wide range of occasions. “Cappuccino" is a shade of beige that creates a gentle atmosphere. Takagi Mink Co., Ltd. is a fur and leather manufacturer headquartered in Gifu Prefecture with six branches in Fukushima, Tokyo, Yokohama, Kusatsu, Kobe, and Fukuyama. From planning and manufacturing our own brand apparel products to supplying fur parts as OEM for other brands. The "Leather Matrix" was born out of an attempt to develop new products by utilizing existing technologies and facilities during the continuing severe conditions in the apparel industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our company has been producing apparel products called "Leather Mesh" for some time, and this technology provided hints for product development. Leather mesh is made of transparent thin fabric such as organdy with leather partially sewn on. While it retains the texture of leather, it overturns the image of heavy and thick leather clothes and can be worn in spring and summer. The Leather Matrix incorporates our company's expertise in precisely sewing leather and thin materials.
The Leather Matrix has been prototyped and improved over time. In addition to the design and size, we tried various types of leather such as lamb leather and various types of cowhide leather. We wanted strength, lightness, and flexibility to fold the base fabric, so we came up with a combination of Italian shrink embossed leather and Cordura nylon.
